The Beekman Interior Renderings Revealed September 26, 2014

The beautiful old 5 Beekman building (or Temple Court building, if you prefer) is currently under heavy construction, but when the historic landmark is finished undergoing its renovation it’s gonna be a stunnah! Same as it ever was, but you know, more polished.

While we love the beauty in the abandonment it sat in for decades, this renovation is a long time coming, and it won’t just be private condos—there will also be a hotel and two restaurants (from Keith McNally and Tom Colicchio), allowing the public to step inside. And the centerpiece of the building, the atrium, won’t be closed off—one and all will be allowed to bask in the moonlight beaming through its glass, while sipping on some champagne. Between this and the Rainbow Room reopening, Classic New York seems to be enjoying a comeback.

Nadine Johnson & Associates, the publicity team working with 5 Beekman, sent along a few renderings and told us the restaurants are scheduled to open in fall of 2015, and Colicchio’s will be the one housed in the atrium area (called The Living Room). There will also be residences, and that hotel we mentioned, which they aim to open around the same time. AsCurbed points out, there will be a total of 68 condominiums housed in “a 51-story glass tower adjacent to the 1883-built atrium-filled beauty, which will contain 287 hotel rooms.”
