Scarpetta launching new Madison Avenue restaurant
Scarpetta, from John Meadow’s LDV Hospitality, is launching its new restaurant at 88 Madison Ave. at The James New York – NoMad on Wednesday.
The large space — designed in warm woods and other signature earthy materials by architect Thomas Juul-Hansen — comes with a 1,306-square-foot dining room, a 370-square-foot private room and a 1,111-square-foot bar/cafe with 50 seats.
Executive chef Jorge Espinoza, who launched Scarpetta on 14th Street, created a menu with classic dishes like spaghetti tomato and basil, yellowtail crudo, creamy polenta, short rib agnolotti and roasted branzino.
The new eatery will also feature a larger bar and cafe, with an extended ‘crudo’ menu and more small plate offerings for sharing.
